Learn to Play (U7)
Welcome to Southfour Learn to Play (U7) Softball
Our LTP program introduces kids ages 4-6 to softball in a fun, active, and age-appropriate way. It focuses on skill-building and full participation through games and activities—not the adult version of the sport. Short, engaging drills keep children involved while developing basic skills.
The program is tailored to young kids' needs:
- They thrive on fun and action
- Gross motor skills over fine
- Short attention spans
- Need for praise and simple tasks
- Varied maturity levels
- Concrete thinking and slow decisions
- Stress-free environment
Parent Volunteers Needed Success relies on adult helpers to run activities, give feedback, and maintain a 1:6 ratio for max repetitions. No softball knowledge required—just enthusiasm! Families are welcome every session..

2026 U7 Learn to Play Season
Registration
- Open: November 10, 2025 - March 31, 2026

Cost
- $75.00 per player Includes a team t-shirt, individual photo, team photo, and mid-season festival!
Season Schedule
- Starts: Week of April 27, 2026
- Ends: Week of June 22, 2026
- Games/Practices: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-7:30 pm
- Each session includes a "practice" portion focused on skill-building through fun games and activities, followed by a "game" portion with a relaxed scrimmage against another team to introduce the fundamentals of softball.
- Rainouts/cancellations are at the coachs discretion.
Diamond Locations
Southfour has partnered with West Hill Softball for U7 games. Teams will play at both Southfour and West Hill diamonds throughout the season.

Equipment needed:
- Ball Glove - please find a good fitting glove (specialty shops like Adrenaline Source for Sports are good at sizing your child properly)
- Water Bottle
- Comfortable running shoes
- Comfortable pants or shorts, no baseball pants required
- Your registration fee includes a team t-shirt which will be handed out the first week of regular season practice
